Reschedule and cancellation rules
Customer-facing policy for ticketed boat event bookings

Only confirmed event bookings can be rescheduled or cancelled. Bookings that are not active cannot use these customer actions.
Reschedule is allowed once only. After a booking has been rescheduled once, it cannot be rescheduled again from the customer page.
Reschedule is not available within the 48-hour cut-off before the event start time. Customers must request the change before that window closes.
The preferred new date must be a future live date for the same event, same vessel and same event time.
Fallback date is optional. If the preferred date does not have enough spots, the page can try the fallback date.
If the preferred date has enough spots, the booking moves to the preferred date.
If the preferred date is full but the fallback date has enough spots, the booking moves to the fallback date.
If neither date has enough spots, the customer is added to the waitlist for the preferred date instead of being moved.
If the chosen date sells out during the request, the customer is told the date just sold out and should try again.
Cancellation is not available for refund inside 48 hours of the event. The customer is told that refunds and date changes are not available within 48 hours of the event.
Before the 48-hour cut-off, cancellation refunds 95% of the total paid. The remaining 5% is retained as the service fee.
After cancellation before the cut-off, the event seats are released and the booking is marked refunded.
If refund processing fails, the customer is told to contact hello@bookmywave.com.
