Damage Report — what this section is for
Formal claim against the customer's security bond

Purpose — use this section only when genuine damage occurred during a booking and you need to claim against the customer's security bond.
Placement — appears inside the operator booking detail page, below the Timeline in the main column.
Bond amount — the UI calculates against a $2,000 security bond cap. Anything above $2,000 is shown as outstanding above bond.
Evidence required — the report asks for damage description, affected area, severity, estimated cost, photos/videos, and operator declaration.
Important: The confirmation warning says false or exaggerated claims may result in account suspension.

When the damage report appears
Hidden until the charter is eligible for reporting

Charter must have started/ended — the component calculates the latest charter end time from the booking slots and does not render before that time.
Status filter — only confirmed or completed bookings can show the damage report section.
Report deadline — the normal reporting window is 6 hours after charter end. The countdown updates every second.
Late state — after the 6-hour window closes, the UI changes to a warning and says the claim may still be reviewed at BookMyWave's discretion.

Click to open — before the form expands, a confirmation modal appears.
Formal warning — modal explains this is a formal claim against the customer's security bond and should only be used for genuine damage.
Cancel or proceed — Cancel closes the modal. "Yes, file a damage report" opens the form.

Damage report form — what owners must enter
Description, affected area, severity, cost, files, and declaration

Damage description * — explain what was damaged, where it happened on the vessel, and how the operator believes it occurred.
Area / items affected * — examples include deck, cabin, audio system, upholstery, or any specific item.
Severity * — dropdown options are Minor, Moderate, and Major.
Estimated repair cost * — must be at least $1. The form calculates the maximum bond deduction and any outstanding amount above the $2,000 bond.
Declaration * — operator confirms the damage happened during the booking and did not exist before the charter.
Operator wording: Be specific and factual. Avoid emotional or exaggerated wording because BookMyWave will review the evidence and quotation.

Report submitted card — shows a green check, report number, and report status with underscores replaced by spaces.
Quote required — if report status is submitted or quote required and there is no quote amount, the quotation form appears.

Deadline — the quote form shows the deadline from the report. If expired, a red deadline badge appears and submission may still be reviewed at BookMyWave's discretion.
Quote amount * — required number greater than zero.
Repair company name * — required. Placeholder example is Sydney Marine Services Pty Ltd.
Quote document * — required. The UI says it must be from a licensed repairer and PDF is preferred.
Submit quotation — uploads the quote file through the damage upload API, then sends amount, provider, filename, and URL to the damage quote endpoint.
No self-quote: The UI explicitly says operator self-quotations are not accepted.
